Ginseng root contains 0.4% ginsenosides and a little volatile oil. The main component of volatile oil is panacen (C[XB]15[/XB]H[XB]24[/XB]) 0.072%.

 

It is reported that ginsenosides A, B, C, D, E and F (panaxoside A, B, C, D, E, F) were isolated from roots. Ginsenoside A is ginsenoside Rg[XB]1[/XB] (ginsenoside Rg[XB]1[/XB]). After hydrolysis of ginsenosides B and C, panaxatriol saponins were produced, and 20-epiproto panaxo-diol saponins were obtained after hydrolysis of ginsenosides D, E and F.

 

In addition, there are monosaccharides: glucose, fructose, sucrose. Multiple vitamins (B[XB]1[/XB], B[XB]2[/XB], niacin, niacinamide, pantothenic acid), various amino acids, choline, enzymes (maltose, invertase, esterase), spermine and cholamine.
